Mock Meet Week

Erica Wheatley

Hello Sea Snake Families,

Happy Mock Meet week!

  • An email was just sent out with a link to sign up for volunteer slots at the Mock Meet. There should be a way for every swimmer to have a family member or two participate in running the meet. Please reach out to me if you are not able and we will find something that works for you! It's a fun time.
  • Please invite family and friends - meet spectating is free!
  • We would also like to provide some snacks for the swimmers after the meet - treat sign ups are also on the volunteer sign-up page.
  • If you have not signed-up for the meet but would like to come - please email me at [email protected]
  • Each meet we send out a "Meet Prep Email" which contains the meet reports of what events swimmers their coaches assigned them, the meet fees for individual swimmers (this one is free, of course!), and any other instructions the coaches or the host team needs to share. We will also send out this Meet Prep Email for the Mock meet so you can get used to the process.

Next Session January 3-March 17

  • Have you signed up for next session yet? It's so fun to see all our swimmers enjoying the team. We are pretty full both days, but if you wanted to switch days or add days, shoot me an email and I'll let you know if there is room in your lanes.
  • Opt-in for our first USA Swimming meet of 2024 has a deadline of January 6 - I would try and sign up now if you can. It is in Morgantown January 19-21 and the main sessions are Saturday and Sunday.
  • The goal is for all swimmers to swim as many meets/events as possible in January and February so they have options of what to swim at State Championships.
  • You can come both days or just one (please let me know in the notes). Many are staying in hotels Friday and/or Saturday. BUT....we will definitely have carpooling so please don't let the travel stop you from coming.

Please congratulate your swimmers for working hard this session. We have had some good butterfly weeks and there is a lot of improvement. And, wow, you should see our Sea Snakes dominate at their High School meets! Keep up the great work.
