About the Eastern Panhandle Swim Club
In 2014, The Shepherd University Wellness Center (SUWC) Sea Snakes Swim Team was created to service the local community with a fun and competitve swimming option for youth ages 5-18.
In May 2024, the Eastern Panhandle Swim Club, LLC(EPSC)was formed to act as the umbrella company to “boost” and manage the competitive swim programs at Shepherd, in partnership with the Shepherd University Wellness Center. As co-owners of EPSC, Head Coaches Erica Wheatley and Tim Clayton look forward to fostering Accountability, Courage, and Empathy in our swimmers as they strive to reach their highest potential both in and out of the pool. By Fall 2024, EPSC will transition to assume the role of the previous Sea Snakes Swim Team Booster Club, as well as act in a larger team-management capacity for all competitive swim programs at SUWC.

Mission
The competitive swim programs at the Shepherd University Wellness Center are committed to developing the character and self-discipline of young athletes through the sport of swimming. We provide the youth of our community with a safe and fun competitive swimming experience with year-round practices and swim meets. Our coaches encourage technique-based performance to develop swimmers to their highest potential. We are committed to the athletes’ success not only in swimming but in life away from the pool. We strive to build a family atmosphere, where athletes can learn to be themselves while working toward their own personal goals.
Pool Location & Directions
All practices and home meets are held at the Shepherd University Wellness Center. Away meets will be in various locations in West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Maryland. Pool locations and directions will be provided once the MASSL finalizes the season schedule and will be available on the Team Unify website and sent via email.
