Swim Team and Competitive Swim Program Registration Process  

 

1. New Swimmers - email Head Coach, Erica Wheatley at [email protected] with the following information: 

- Parent/Guardian name, email, phone number 

- Swimmer Full name (First, middle, last) 

- Swimmer Date of Birth 

- Previous Swim Experience, including times from previous seasons if you have them 

- Programs you are interested in, swim goals

 

2. Practice Group Assignments:

  • New Swimmers - we are not holding tryouts or evaluations for the 2024/2025 Season. Please makes sure you check in with Coach Erica first for group placement and also confirm your swimmer can meet the basic requirements:
    • ​8 and under: 25 yards of Freestyle, 25 yards of Backstroke, and a basic knowledge of Breaststroke and Butterfly
    • ​9 and older: 50 yards of Freestyle, 50 yards of Backstroke, and a basic knowledge of Breaststroke and Butterfly
    • Advanced Platinum Group placement requires stricter qualifications of above average efficiency and endurance in all strokes and racing skills; please communicate with Coach Erica if you would like to join those groups.
  • Returning swimmers- check in with your coaches as to which practice group/program to join.

3. Register at myshepherdwellness.com and pay your practice fee. 

  • Create a parent/guardian account first and add swimmers as dependents 
  • Swimmers must be registered with their name/birthday/personal info 
  • Registration may also be completed in person at the Wellness Center 

4. Register and Pay your EPSC Team Fee on the TeamUnify Registration Page  www.shepherdseasnakes.com

  • If you already have an account, do not create a new one.  Use the Blue Registration button to start the registration process for the new season.
  • If you do not see the registration up for your program or season yet, it will be emailed to you at a later time.
    • ​The 2024/2025 Fall/Winter EPSC Registration page will open mid-August

 

5. For USA Swimming Competitive Swimmers: Register swimmer for USA Swimming with team link provided by the your Head Coaches ($30-$87)

  • Create a parent/guardian account first and add swimmers as dependents 
  • Team USA Swimming Links will be sent in September.

6. Download the OnDeck App (TeamUnify in App form) for easy access to team information and communication 

7. Check “Required Gear” on TeamUnify site and purchase what is needed prior to practice starting (around $60-$120 – shop around or buy all together at swimoutlet.com) 

8. OPTIONAL: Purchase a competition suit ($40-$70) TYR Alliance in Navy/Gold from swimoutlet.com 

- Try on kit available at practice – see Booster Officer or Coach 

- Another option is to order any navy or navy/gold suit to use only for competitions 

9. Look at Meets and Events, Opt-in for all the meets you can! 

10. Monitor emails and TeamUnify for weekly updates, Event news, swim meet information, etc. 

11. Download Wellness Center app for notifications (no sign-in required) 

- Android / iPhone  

12. Download the Meet Mobile app for live swim meet results ($10 for a year access – optional) 

13. Download Swim Cloud app to view all previous recorded results for your swimmer 

 

Enrollment Agreement 

Enrolling in any Competitive Swim program at SUWC or with EPSC implies participants and parents/guardians/family members agree to abide by all rules and regulations established by the Shepherd University Wellness Center and the Eastern Panhandle Swim Club for the duration of the enrollment period. Enrollment sales are final. 

Photography 

Shepherd University Wellness Center and the Eastern Panhandle Swim Club reserve the right to take photographs or videos of swimmers and program attendees present for promotional purposes. The parent/guardian/swimmer authorizes such use without compensation or notification.
